RaaP is revolutionizing hotel and housing construction through technology-driven solutions that make prefabrication viable for multifamily and hospitality projects. Their platform needed a complete redesign to better serve architects, contractors, and developers throughout the construction lifecycle.

Challenge

Despite having powerful technology, RaaP's complex interface was creating barriers to adoption. Users struggled to understand the platform's value proposition and navigate its core features. The company needed to transform its product interface to clearly communicate its capabilities and streamline the user experience.

Our comprehensive usability audit began with a thorough heuristic evaluation of the existing platform. We conducted in-depth interviews with 12 key stakeholders to understand their workflows and pain points. Through detailed analysis of user behavior patterns and performance metrics, we identified critical friction points in the navigation architecture, project milestone tracking, collaboration features, and cost estimation workflows.

Design Strategy

Based on our research, we developed a three-pronged approach focusing on simplifying user flows to match natural construction planning processes, enhancing data visualization for quick cost comparisons, and creating clear pathways through the building process. We mapped this strategy into immediate quick wins, mid-term improvements for core features, and long-term platform evolution goals.

Our design process began with reconstructing core user journeys and simplifying navigation patterns, reducing steps in common tasks by 40%. Using Figma, we created interactive prototypes that brought complex pricing comparisons to life and demonstrated seamless transitions between project phases. The final interface features industry-standard visual language, high-contrast typography, and consistent component patterns that resonate with construction professionals.

Throughout implementation, our team collaborated closely with developers, providing detailed documentation and participating in weekly design reviews. Three rounds of usability testing with industry professionals and a beta testing phase with select clients helped us refine the platform before launch, ensuring both technical accuracy and user satisfaction.
